Introducing to our D Blog - our special guest - The Double D blogger

Meet Sommelier and Restaurant Proprietor, the DD himself, Daniel Deny!

He'll be highlighting wines in the D blog from time to time, ones he comes across that have an extra special X factor - or for our purposes D factor  - representing Differently Distinguished wines.  Handpicked, uncommon, and top-Drawer.

(Music should play an impressive horn arrangement announcing DD's first wine pick.  Invoke musical imagination . . . Dah, Duh, Da, Dah)

Here it is. . . befitting the seasoned Frenchman and so right for the new oenophile, an uncomplicated smooth easily pairable white wine.

WHITE WINE FROM THE LOIRE VALLEY OF FRANCE

Producer :  Domaine de la Taille aux Loups "Les dix Arpents"
Appelation : Montlouis sur Loire.
Vintage : 2012
Grape : 100% Chenin Blanc, also called Pineau de La Loire.

The wine is absolutely pure, Dry with great intensity of vivid citrus and pear flavor with a soft underlying of minerality. Beautiful with shellfish.

This wine is poured at Primitivo Wine Bistro on Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice, CA for $13/glass or $52/bottle. (Your only other choice is to try a fine wine shop, that like DD, seeks the rare and light extraordinary wines.)

A good wine that matches a meal correctly calms the Digestive system, prepares the palate and complements the meal.

Bon Appetit and happy sipping.
